If and only if you can... Then...
"IF YOU CAN DREAM IT, YOU CAN DO IT."
— Walt Disney
Good morning friends!
We just began the second quarter the other day but now we are already one month deep into it, and I believe we all have big plans that may need, actualization.
If you want to make some big gains in productivity... Here's a little trick I'm learning.
Implement this little trick that Scorsese, Spielberg and Disney use when making movies...
Work backwards.
Begin at the finish.
Know how you want it to end.
Solve the climax first.
Figure out where you want to go; then work backwards from there.
A few examples might be good right about now.
If you’re opening a restaurant, BEGIN WITH THE EXPERIENCE you want the diner to have when she walks in and enjoys a meal.
If you’re preparing for a speech, DETERMINE THE KEY ACTIONS you want the audience to take before you begin to script your presentation.
You just began the second quarter.
To make it bigger, bolder and better than the first quarter...
Think bigger and visualize three goals you want to achieve.
Allow the feeling of the finished task, the success... to saturate your mind.
Know how you want the second quarter to end.
You get to write, direct and star in your own movie.
It’s your life, therefore it’s your responsibility to solve the climax first.
If you want to crush some big goals and make a quantum leap or two...
Choose to become the hero of your story.
Allow yourself to dream without limits, to fantasize about turning your life into an action movie.
Create a plot dripping with excitement, boldness, audacity, courage, big thinking, overcoming obstacles and epic accomplishments.
It’s only when you become your own hero, when you can stand on your own two feet, when you confront fear and overcome obstacles…and save yourself that you seem prepared and ready to unleash your greatness.
...succeed!
